If you’re looking for a new hobby and are in a creative mood, crochet is just the thing for you. Learn how to wield a hook and create something special in this Classie course for absolute beginners.

This course is designed for those who have had little to no experience with a crochet hook. You will learn basic stitches, such as double and treble crochets, chain stitches, slip stitches, and their abbreviations; how to change colours; and even try your hand at a granny square towards the end of the class.

Class sizes are kept small so each participant will have a chance to interact with the host on a one-to-one basis. Participants will be provided with all the equipment on the day, including an aluminium hook, sample patterns, and a ball of yarn.

Come along to a Classie course and learn another lifelong skill.

Please note: This class requires a minimum of five people to proceed. Bookings are essential.

Any child under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

We also have a Crochet in a Cafe: Make a Bowl class. Click HERE to look at available dates.

I attended this class with 3 others, there was a good amount of personal tutoring and the time of 2 hours was a good length of time. I liked the drink, and enjoyed learning a new skill with others. This is a course for beginners, and gives introductory skills.

Mum & I had fun in this class. Donna was extremely patient with those of us ( me) who had difficulty in the beginning, the class size was good - 6 of us, so everyone was able to have one on one with our teacher. A nice way to spend a Sunday morning.

Had a lot of fun and started leaning to crochet, so mission accomplished. The venue was nice, taking home the wool and hook and instruction sheets was excellent. The instructor Sophie was lovely and very patient, though we all got a bit lost at one stage when it got a bit technical for us. All in all a good time, thanks

I was a total beginner, so it took me 2 classes to master the skills, so I think it shows how much I enjoyed the class that I came back for another go. Kaitlin was great! She gave clear instructions, was quick to provide personal instructions, and was always positive in encouraging and complimenting our efforts. I hope to attend the bowl class after some more practice.

Haley was lovely and had everyone crocheting right away. She was patient and fun. The class was a little bit big with 10 people. I think 6-7 would be ideal. It was great to see some males in the class too. Thanks Haley.
