If you’re looking for a new hobby and are in a creative mood, crochet is just the thing for you. Learn how to wield a hook and create something special in this Classie course for absolute beginners.

This course is designed for those who have had little to no experience with a crochet hook. You will learn basic stitches, such as double and treble crochets, chain stitches, slip stitches, and their abbreviations; how to change colours; and even try your hand at a granny square towards the end of the class.

Class sizes are kept small so each participant will have a chance to interact with the host on a one-to-one basis. Participants will be provided with all the equipment on the day, including an aluminium hook, sample patterns, and a ball of yarn.

Come along to a Classie course and learn another lifelong skill.

Please note: This class requires a minimum of five people to proceed. Bookings are essential.

Any child under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

We also have a Crochet in a Cafe: Make a Bowl class. Click HERE to look at available dates.

Nice venue, friendly and knowledgeable tutor. I felt I learned a lot. Great communications with reminders before the event and confirmation from the tutor the night before.

I was a total beginner, so it took me 2 classes to master the skills, so I think it shows how much I enjoyed the class that I came back for another go. Kaitlin was great! She gave clear instructions, was quick to provide personal instructions, and was always positive in encouraging and complimenting our efforts. I hope to attend the bowl class after some more practice.

Haley was lovely and had everyone crocheting right away. She was patient and fun. The class was a little bit big with 10 people. I think 6-7 would be ideal. It was great to see some males in the class too. Thanks Haley.

I really appreciated the effort our instructor took to teach herself how to crochet left handed in order to teach my friend and I. I was definitely slower to pick it up, but have wowed to keep practicing. I did find it excellent for improving my ability to focus on task at hand.

Oh what fun!!! Just loved the professional organised way that Kaitlin managed 9 beginners hook into making a granny square. We knew nothing to start and she took us on a loopy cruise. After two and a half hours we all had achieved our goal of learning how to crochet!! Do it. You'll love it
