If you think youíve seen everything that Brisbane has to offer, then why not try looking at it through an artistís eyes? It doesnít matter how long it has been since you last put pencil to paper, Southbank's cultural precinct will inspire and nurse your inner creative spark.
This class is comprised of mini drawing classes at unique locations around Brisbane, capturing what you see from direct observation onto paper. Each location is specifically chosen by the host, whether it be for a great view, a particularly interesting landmark, or the opportunity for a lesson in technique. You will cover perception and proportion, line, tone and value and so much more.
Class sizes are kept small so each participant will have a chance to interact with the host on a one-to-one basis. A variety of materials will be provided on the day, including paper, pencils, charcoal, and pastels. A complimentary beverage will be provided at the sit-down venue.

The structure of the course is excellent for beginners. I enjoyed the focus on basic shapes as it shows you how to see what was in front of you ...it is easier to see them and then draw them.
The changing settings was a good idea as we could test our techniques and notice the different shapes. I also enjoyed the yse of pastels. The information sheets are very useful and helpful for practice time. Jenni is an excellent teacher and is very supportive and builds your confidence. I feel more confident and it was a fun course. 5/5 by Chris Mitchell 16-10-2017

I loved it. Jenni was such a good teacher, imparting her knowledge in a positive, easy going and patient manner. I hope there might be a follow up class to the beginner's in the future. 5/5 by Sharon Coombes 1-10-2017
I really enjoyed the class. Jenn was a great teacher for beginners. She provided enough practical guidance and encouragement to give us confidence and the opportunity to develop our skills. It was a great chance to experiment with different materials. and of course, the venue was inspirational. 4/5 by Therese Korte 19-9-2017
I thoroughly enjoyed it! Jenni was very supportive and encouraging the whole way. I learnt some new things about drawing and got to practise with various mediums. The resources we got to take away was good too. The small class size was great as well, as we could chat with each other and Jenni. 5/5 by Min Chen 18-9-2017

Enjoyed it very much. I am surprised at the number of tasks and different media we got to experience in such a short time. Very happy with the end results. The handouts were particularly good. 5/5 by Sandy Parsons 21-8-2017
The class was amazing, Jennifer gave everyone so much encouragement, she was so well organised, as a total novice I felt that I learnt a great deal and had a very enjoyable morning meeting new people and having fun. Thanks Jennifer and Classie 5/5 by Helen Murphy 9-8-2017
The timing, layout, movement between the locations, beverage at the final location, toilet breaks, weather: it was all fantastic!
We were in the full-on sun at the first location, so the recommendation on the instructions about suggested items to bring if you like are valid. Having a blanket or chair to sit on is definitely a good idea, and a personal shade item (such as a hat) is recommended. 5/5 by April Lauer 9-8-2017
Fun, informative, relaxing. 5/5 by Georgina Worldon 8-8-2017
Excellent teacher in Jenni - very supportive and obviously cares about her students. Really liked how we learned some fundamental basics and got a taste of a lot of different styles and mediums. 5/5 by Louise Vincent 7-8-2017
Loved this class from beginning to end. Jennifer gave me confidence that I could actually put something on paper. I think being outdoors and going to different locations was a great idea and also trying different mediums was so much fun. Thank you Classie for helping me develop a wonderful hobby. Loved the size of the group and the enthusiasm of the teachers. 5/5 by Christine Scherer 6-8-2017
