Knitting is a craft that has withstood the test of time because it is versatile, practical and easy to learn. It is also a relaxing social activity and great for keeping idle hands busy during casual conversations.

This course will start at the very beginning and caters to beginners of all ages. Youíll start with the basics, working through to your first finished piece under your hostís tutelage.

Class sizes are kept small so each participant will have a chance to interact with the host on a one-to-one basis. Participants will be provided with all the equipment on the day, including a set of bamboo knitting needles, a wool darning needle, and a ball of yarn.

A free beverage is also included as part of the course price. Bookings are essential.

Any child under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

If you've already completed this class but feel unsure about commencing a project, the Knitting: Beginners Extension class is available to grow your confidence.

I joined the class in the hope of finding a calming new hobby that could also give something back to the community in the form of donated squares that make blankets for the homeless. I now have the confidence to join a local knitting group with my basic skills. Diana was incredibly approachable and energetic. I doubt there's anything she doesn't know about knitting!

Very informative and good for people at any stage! Diana made sure everyone was progressing well at their respective stages and ensure everyone had time to ask her individual questions.

Diana is a great teacher, gave clear instruction and demonstration and very helpful, was happy to re-explain things and helped me to perfect casting-on and a basic stitch. I'm a complete beginner and am quite inspired to pursue this so I'll likely be at another class soon - thank!

The knitting class was just what I need to start knitting. Diana was very informative and helpful. It was a good sized class and well organised. I wasn't really able to finish the beanie in the class but I was able to unravel what I've done in class, start over and complete it by myself at home keeping in mind what Diana has taught us and the tips she shared. Now I can't wait to start on a scarf. Loved it!
